Berkeley Energia

Berkeley Energia (BKY) is a dual listed high impact, clean energy company focussed on bringing its wholly owned Salamanca project into production, commencing initial development in mid-2016.

BKY world class uranium project is being developed in an historic mining area in western Spain. Following recent ministerial approval, the Company has now received all the European Union and National level approvals required for the initial development.

The Salamanca Uranium project has a Net Present Value of US$353.5 million (£235.7 million) with an internal rate of return of 54% based on a discount rate of 8% and a long term uranium price of US$44 per pound.

The project will generate measurable social and environmental benefits in the form jobs and skills training in a depressed rural community. It will also make a significant contribution to the security of supply of Europe’s zero carbon energy needs, where Euratom recently rated “lack of investment in new mines” as the number one risk facing European utilities.
